Tell us about your work.

Solar Service has been in business for over 33 years, and is one of the most established solar companies in the United States.  We are experts at designing, installing and supporting Solar thermal systems (for hot water and heat assist) as well as photovoltaics (solar electric systems).  At Solar Service, I am the Director of Sales and am in charge of growing revenue, training new salespeople, identifying and developing new product offerings and enhancing the Solar Service brand image.

I really like the idea of solar hot water heating.  The water gets pumped up into the unit on the roof, naturally warmed, and then comes back down.  This is probably the most direct use of solar energy.  What is the importance of solar energy?

Solar energy’s importance is very high for a variety of reasons.  First, it’s an environmentally clean, renewable, maintenance-free energy source that lasts decades to help solve global warming, with the ability to eliminate tons of CO2 from our atmosphere with every system installed.  Second, it’s a way to create new, good-paying jobs because the dollars spent on these projects goes to local workers, not foreign energy producers.  Finally, Solar is a non-invasive, viable energy source that works in partnership with everything that’s already in the home. Solar can easily be retrofitted to an existing building or added onto the plans of a new one.

I didn’t know it was that easy to retrofit solar energy!  I look forward to learning more about the impact of your work professionally and personally in our next post.
